Not sure if this is how the reply works.....
What do you use to gauge your numbers for diabetes? I was under the impression you had to use a meter. ???

Luckily I am not at the stage where I *have* to, the doc gave me some pee strips to use now and then to see how I am doing... so far so good :-)

Although I was very naughty with dinner tonight, had some very good chicken satay with some yummy satay sauce ;-)

I trying very hard not to open a very nice bottle of white wine I've had chilling for weeks... must resist...must

oh! I didn't realize you could use pee strips. How interesting! I wonder if that would be better than pricking your finger all the time. hmmm. Interesting to think about!!
I hadn't even considered wine being a problem....probably because I can't drink while pregnant (well, at least not much anyhow, a few sips here and there are ok)
That reminds me of a woman I used to work with who was diabetic and she had a special beer she drank and called it "Diabetic Beer" :)

So, are you kind of on the verge of being diabetic? How does that work? Your doc just said your sugar levels are high and you need to watch it?

LOL, I am fully Type 2. I control it with diet and a pill that helps body tissue like muscles absorb insulin. Very common treatment regime in the UK for Type 2.

The pee strips measure the amount of sugar there is in your urine, I use these: http://www.glucosemeters4u.com/Diastix.htm
